With the varying weather conditions it’s important to keep checking your roof every year for damage caused from strong winds and heavy rain. For instance; roof tiles may have come loose, or some large stone object on your roof may just be an accident waiting to happen (there have been cases where these stone ornamental features have fell off the roof during strong winds and caused damage when impacting the ground below, or maybe even hurt somebody who was not able to move out the way fast enough).

If you have a ladder and are able to safely and professionally clean your own gutters, check out the rest of the roof on either side of the house for any signs of damage at the same time; you can usually see if something is damaged or if tiles have slipped down from outside anyway so a visual inspection from on the ground every so often is always a good idea.

But if you don’t have the right equipment and can’t do the task safely and professionally it’s strongly advised that you hire a professional to do this for you, but be weary of cowboy tradesman claiming to offer a service for low prices; use your smarts and do your research, and if in doubt find someone else.
