Single ply is a great roofing product for enhancing the water-proofing of a roof. Made from PVC, it can be installed in a very quick time-frame, reducing costs and reducing the risk of the task being interrupted by bad weather.

The materials come in a roll which is unrolled on its desired position, on top of the underlay. As you unroll the single ply, you need to create an overlap of around 10cm, which are then welded together. It needs to be done in a very precise manner, to ensure there is no gap, which can create a haemorrhage which will destroy the weld over time.

There are a variety of tools which can be used to do this more efficiently, such as a hand-held gun welder, which is ideal for placing between the two materials and welding in a continuous manner.
